About us
GiRG has been founded in Andorra as the official representative in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula, of TRUMER SCHUTZBAUTEN GmbH, established in the 1990s in Salzburg, Austria, and with the support of the specialist geologist in geological hazards and applications engineer, Mr. Joan TORREBADELLA. GiRG has been created to help solve problems related to geological phenomena that threaten our society in Latin America, Spain, Portugal, Andorra and France. A main idea of the two companies is to develop the best and most effective protection solutions against geological phenomena such as rockfall, landslides, debris flows, avalanches and unstable slopes.
In response to these needs, a Integral Management methodology has been developed that covers all the steps for a correct and unbeatable management of natural phenomena:
- Management and advice in the emergency phase, after or during an event
- Carrying out detailed studies that characterize the geological phenomenon that may affect us
- Realization of detailed engineering (definition of the protections that best fit to the real needs)
- Design of protections by our experts in Austria
- Manufacture of protections in Obertum am See (Austria) and its supply
- Advice in the installation phase and final inspection of the works
- Inspection and maintenance to extend the useful life of the protections
And all this managed by a single actor, without intermediaries and without loss of data and traceability throughout the management process, from the emergency to the completion of the installation of protections!
The reason for an Integral Management
Because through experience, we have observed that more and more, the client needs someone to manage the problems related to geological phenomena and disasters, from the beginning (just after the event), until the area is fully protected and safe.
through the Comprehensive Management of Geological Risks, the client does not have to contact or hire a specialized company for each phase, but we take care of all the efforts and work, until the end.
Likewise, costs will decrease, since there are no intermediaries between the different parties; engineering, supply of protections and execution of works through the same actor. Additionally, there will be no discrepancies or misunderstandings between them, since all the actors will be led by a highly competitive technical team.
The future is based on companies that are competent to deal with the problems arising from a geological event, from the emergency phase to the completion of the protection works; A single person responsible for all phases of risk management is much better than having different actors (transfer of erroneous or incomplete information, delay in the provision of protections due to poor planning, a poor definition of the project due to lack of knowledge, poor execution of work due to lack of experience or training, etc.).
