Projects and construction management

Protection projects against geological risks, based on precise and detailed studies carried out in advance. Taking into account the specific problem of each case and the vulnerable elements to protect.

Continuous monitoring of the protection works based on the requirements of the protection manufacturers and the requirements of the project drafting team, in order to guarantee a correct implementation of the works.

Drafting of protection projects

Drafting protection projects against falling rock blocks by means of dynamic barriers and meshes for direct stabilization of slopes and slopes, following the recommendations established in the following guides:

  • ONR24810-Protection against rock falls - terminology and definitions, effects, calculation of structures, inspection and maintenance. Austria
  • EAD340059-00-0106-Protection systems against falling rock blocks. European Union

Drafting protection projects against torrential flows (debris flows) according to the recommendations established in the following guides:

  • ONR 24800-Protection for torrent control: terms and their definitions, as well as classification. Austria
  • ONR 24801-Protection for torrent control: static and dynamic actions on structures. Austria
  • ONR 24802-Protection works for the control of torrents - Design of structures. Austria
  • ONR 24803-Protection for torrent control: operation, supervision, maintenance. Austria
  • KWAN, JSH and CHEUNG, RWM-Suggestions on design approaches for flexible storm flow barriers. Department of Civil Engineering and Development, Hong Kong

Drafting of ground instrumentation projects for the observation of possible slope movements

Drafting of repair and maintenance projects for dynamic protection barriers and slope stabilization meshes

The documents that normally include the project are:

  • Statement of specific technical requirements
  • Price table
  • Budget
  • Blueprints
  • Technical memory
  • Annexes
  • Geological and geotechnical study
  • Workplan
  • measurements
  • Inspection and maintenance plan

directions dand work

C.Ontrol of reconsideration of the works. Topographic and geometric control of all the elements of the work.

Detailed control and review of all the works, the work units to be carried out and the materials used (in terms of geometry, quality, quantity, cost and time), both in terms of activities pertaining to the work (earthwork, structures, paving, service pipelines, anchors, foundations, facilities, various protections, etc.) as well as with regard to the auxiliary and additional activities necessary for the execution of the work (loading and transport of earth and rocks until is outside the scope of the work, control of the dumping points of excess materials, collection and handling of construction materials on site, provisional signage on public roads due to access to the work, protection measures to avoid noise, smoke , gases, projections, etc, storage of explosives on site, etc).

Periodic inspection of the situation of the work, in all the different cuts, if applicable, detailing the status of the works and their evolution. Likewise, the instructions, communications and warnings to the contractor that he deems appropriate are recorded, as well as any incident or notable aspect to be pointed out in relation to the execution of the work.

Drafting monthly reports on the evolution and incidents of the work. Drafting of occasional and/or exceptional reports on the work when the situation requires it, as quickly as possible.

Detect deviations in the quality of the built work, in budget with respect to the budget contracted with the contractor or in time as far in advance as possible. Inform the Customer of these deviations in appropriate timeframes (even urgent, if necessary) in order to have adequate time to take corrective action. Recommendations to the Client on the most indicated corrective measures.

Review and Control of the adjustment of the real terrain that is excavated or perforated in the work in relation to the forecasts of the project. Report and proposal for variations in the work to be carried out, if applicable.

Report for the Client on the quality of the works built by the contractor. Validation of the built works, if applicable, and/or proposal for improvement, correction or repair, if applicable.

Inspection in the workshop and/or on site of those equipment that require it.

Temporary control of the work (planning) determining yields, inputs, waits, accelerations, etc. necessary for compliance with the deadlines established for all contractors hired for the execution of the works. Propose to the Client the application of the penalties for delay in the construction of the work that are applicable, according to the terms of the construction contract of the work.

Solve technical doubts about the construction of the works and provide technical clarifications requested by the contractor.

Order the performance, in the laboratories, of quality control trials and tests, vibration control measures on the environment, noise, smoke emissions and gas emissions caused by the construction works of the work. Analysis and interpretation of results. Determination of the degree of compliance in relation to current regulations. Evaluation of the impact caused by the contractor on the neighbours, nearby activities, public health and hygiene, nearby buildings, the surroundings and the environment, for the aforementioned reasons (vibrations, noise, smoke and gases) or for other causes derived from the execution of the works. Inform the Client, including recommendations for reduction and/or correction, based on the result of the conclusions of the interpretative analysis.

Preparation of the Tender Documents for contracting the tests and quality control tests of the materials deemed necessary (concrete, mortar, troughs, anchors and bolts, pilots, micro-pilots, foundations, injections, active or passive steel, soils used in embankments and fills, rocks, aggregates, compaction of embankments and fills, pipes, tubes and conduits, pavements, geotextile sheets, geonets, resins, waterproofing, paints, installations, etc.) that will also include tests and measurements on construction impacts of the work in the environment (vibrations, smoke and gas emissions, noise, etc.). Analysis of the offers, control and monitoring of the trials and quality control tests, interpretation and application of the corresponding measures according to Spanish and French technical prescriptions.

Review and correction, where appropriate, of the Safety, Hygiene and Surveillance Plan of the work that the contractor must submit. Report this Plan to the Client with validation of the Plan, if applicable, and/or recommendations for its correction, if applicable. supervision, inspectionny control of the performance of the Plan.
